Curriculum
Bianca
  • Graduated in Physics March 8, 1982 at the University of Pisa, Italy, Facolta' di Fisica. Title of the thesis: "Analisys of molecular absorptions inside the cavity of a CO2 laser" Supervisor: Prof. Ennio Arimondo.
  • May 1982- March 1984: Scientific consultant at the Unita' di Ricerca CNR/GIFCO of the Istituto di Fisica Superiore/Spazio dell'Universita' di Firenze. I worked on the analysis of the far-infrared stratospheric spectra recorded during the SIBEX and BIC campaign.
  • 1 April 1984: Collaboratore Tecnico Professionale at the Istituto di Spettroscopia Molecolare of C.N.R. in Bologna. Research in the infrared spectroscopy field (infrared-radiofrequency double resonance in the cavity of a CO2 laser) and analysis of the far-infrared stratospheric spectra in collaboration with Dr Bruno Carli's group (IROE-CNR) in Firenze. Promoted to researcher in 1988.
  • October 1985 - February 1987: Research Associate at the Dept. of Chemistry and Astrophysics of the University of Chicago, Chicago, U.S.A.. I worked on the infrared spectroscopy of molecular ions with Prof. Takeshi Oka's group.
  • October 1990: Fort Sumner, New Mexico, U.S.A. Involved with the launch of a stratospheric balloon to record spectra of the stratosphere.
  • October 1991- November 1995: on leave of absence from my position in Italy. I joined the group of Jonathan Tennyson , and I worked on the determination of the potential energy surface of H3+ from the fitting of spectroscopic data, and on the analysis of the infrared spectra of the impact of Comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 with Jupiter.
  • 1997 involved in the ESA project PIRAMHYD that is a study of an instrument to be flown on board of a satellite to measure the stratospheric concentrations of the OH radical
  • 2002 moved to ISAC-CNR
  • 2006 promoted Senior Scientist (effective since December 2001)
  • Involved in the ESA founded studies for the development of the near-real time Level-2 processor for the interferometer MIPAS, a spectrometer on board of the ESA satellite ENVISAT that has been launched on 1 march 2002.
  • Responsible for the analysis of the measurements made with the SAFIRE spectrometer, an interferometer that operates on board of the Russian stratospheric airplane M55-GEOPHYSICA and studies the stratospheric spectrum in the far-infrared region ( APE campaign ).
  • Responsible of the data processing and of the analysis of the measurements made by the spectrometer SAFIRE in Antartica, flying on board of the airplane M55-GEOPHYSICA during the measurement campaign APE-GAIA (Airborne Polar Experiment - Geophysica Aircraft In Antartica) Ushuaia (Argentina) 15 Sept- 15 Oct. 1999.
  • Co-author of the new approach to the analysis of satellite limb-sounding measurements called GEO-FIT. For the first time the Volume Mixing Ratio of atmospheric gases is retrieved without assuming the atmosphere horizontally homogeneous along the orbit track.
  • Principal Investigator of the ASI-founded project 'GASTRAN-2 Studio e misure da satellite dei gas atmosferici in traccia mediante MIPAS/ENVISAT - Applicazione dei dati a modelli chimici'.
  • Member of the Expert Science Laboratory of the MIPAS/ENVISAT instrument
  • Member of the 'comitato direttivo' of the coordination group 'Osservazioni della Terra'.
  • Key person in the ESA contract on the analisys of MARSCHALS experiment.
  • Key person in the ESA contract on the development of analysis tools for the analysis of special observation modes of MIPAS measurements.
  • Member of the Quality Working Group (QWG) and Expert Support Laboratory (ESL) of the MIPAS/ENVISAT experiment.
  Actual Situation
Working mother of a very tall 15 years old boy (Lorenzo). Also working wife of Patrizio manager of Unicredito Italiano. Usually very tired because ....
I always try to do too many things at once!
  Final Remark
Obviously none of the above helps me in the day by day struggle with real life and with my son!
